Russian tanks destroy Ukrainian stronghold kilometers away

The Russian Defense Ministry said many Ukrainian strongholds in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) were destroyed by Russian T-90M tanks from 5 km away.

Izvestia reported on May 23 that the combat team of T-90M tanks of the Southern operational Group successfully destroyed the bases and equipment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) near the town of Chasov Yar, Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the T-90M crew was ordered to launch from a hiding location in the forest more than 5 km from the target, after receiving coordinates from a reconnaissance unit using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Precision shots caused damage to the opponent thanks to their firepower being activated in real time via UAVs.

The agency stressed that Ukraine has repeatedly sought to strengthen its forces to maintain the defense line, but new units have been intercepted right from the approach line.

Meanwhile, Russian tank teams fight day and night, focusing on urban garrison - where military forces and equipment are concentrated, including foreign- aid weapons.

In addition, tanks also took on the task of providing fire support for the landing units of the regiment, including the Ivanovo and Kostroma Guards, destroying the defenders and neutralizing combat equipment and special equipment.

Previously, on May 22, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that the forces of the Central operational Group had taken control of the Novaya Poltavka settlement in the DPR.

On the same day, the Russian army attacked an aircraft repair workshop, Ukrainian defense industry facilities, military airport infrastructure and many temporary military bases of Ukrainian forces and foreign soldiers in 138 different areas. The air defense force also shot down 317 fixed-wing UAVs.
