Nguyen Huy Hoang wins the final medal for the swimming team at the Asian Open Water Games

Nguyen Huy Hoang still maintained his form to win another bronze medal on the final day of the tournament.

The 2026 Asian Open Water Swimming Championships ended on June 15 in Indonesia and Nguyen Huy Hoang continued to bring joy to the Vietnamese swimming team.

The competition day organizes the men's 10km and women's 10km events.

In the men's 10km event, Nguyen Huy Hoang won a bronze medal when finishing 3rd with a time of 1 hour 53 minutes 30.2 seconds. In the competition, athlete Lan Tianchen (China) won a gold medal with a time of 1 hour 53 minutes 21.1 seconds, and the silver medal was athlete Zhang Jinhou (China) with a time of 1 hour 53 minutes 29.9 seconds.

Also in the event, athlete Mai Tran Tuan Anh finished 5th while Nguyen Viet Tuong did not complete the event.

In the women's 10km event, athletes Vo Thi My Tien and Nguyen Kha Nhi did not win medals.

Overall results after 3 days of competition, the Vietnamese swimming team won 1 silver medal, 4 bronze medals, so they won the second place overall.

First place is the Chinese team with 5 gold medals, 3 silver medals. The Korean team has 3rd place thanks to the result of 1 silver medal.

Participating in the Asian Open Water Swimming Championships for the first time, the Vietnamese swimming team only participated with 5 athletes and left an encouraging result.

Individually, Nguyen Huy Hoang won medals in 3 events including men's 5km, 4x1,500m men's and women's medley relay and men's 10km.
