Vietnamese sports have won their first medals at the 33rd SEA Games and we want to affirm our No. 1 position in key sports in the regional sports arena at all times.

The Vietnamese taekwondo team soon won a medal for the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at the 33rd SEA Games on the first official competition day (December 10). The two Vietnamese athletics and shooting teams have also arrived in Thailand to compete in the 33rd SEA Games. These are the 2 teams with the highest targets among the national teams of the Vietnam Sports Delegation at the 33rd SEA Games (athletics strives to achieve 12 to 14 Gold Medals; shooting strives to achieve 7 Gold Medals).

The leader of the Vietnam Athletics Team at the 33rd SEA Games - Mr. Nguyen Duc Nguyen confirmed: "We aim for opportunities to achieve the best results in some important events. In particular, the strength of the event that Vietnamese athletes can achieve medals at the ASIAD arena held in Thailand this time must be guaranteed the best results".

Head coach of the Vietnam Shooting Team - Mr. Nghiem Viet Hung shared: "Vietnam's shotwers are capable of competing for the highest medal. We understand that the 33rd SEA Games mission is no less important than other international missions, so shooters should not lose focus when standing in front of the target".

On the day of the official start of the 33rd SEA Games, except for the Cambodian Sports Delegation, many Sports Delegations (including Vietnam) received good news for their first medal results. On the central swimming pool, Vietnamese swimming pool made fans burst into tears when reaching the finish line, bringing home medals as expected. At the gymnastics arena, all top players such as Nguyen Van Khanh Phong, Dang Ngoc Xuan Thien... passed the qualifying round to participate in the final.

Today, December 11, the Vietnam Athletics Team entered the competition and the coaching staff predicted that we would soon win the Gold Medal.
