The Vietnam Basketball Federation and the basketball department (Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports) have made a list of training forces to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games.
Accordingly, the men's squad will have concentrated players including Chris Dieker, Dinh Thanh Tam, To Ngoc Khanh, Dang Thai Hung, Justin Duong Young, Tran Dang Khoa, Du Minh An, Huynh Truc Nhan, Pham Hien Tai, Vo Kim Ban, Nguyen Huynh Phu Vinh, Nguyen Phuc Vinh, Dau Trung Kien, Nguyen Anh Kiet.
Players starting training in Ho Chi Minh City under the professional direction of the coaching staff include coaches Matt Van Pelt, Hoang The Vinh, Vu The Cang, Nguyen An Sieng and Le Tran Minh Nghia
The women's event completes the list of faces to be selected for the national team, including Truong Thao Vy, Nguyen Thi Tieu Duy, Bui Kim Nhan, Van Thu Thao, Dang Thi Cam Linh, Bui Thu Hang, Dang Thi Thuy Hang, Mau Thi Nhu Quynh, Tran Thi Thao Huong, Lieu Yen Nhi, Tran Thi Yen Van, Nguyen Thi Thuy Tien, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tram, Nguyen Thi Lan Anh.
The Vietnam women's basketball team also trains in Ho Chi Minh City. The team's coaching staff includes coaches Naeimeh Zafar, David John Grice, Tra Thi Nguyet Nga, Huynh Thi Ngoan and Truong Minh Hien.
Vietnam plans to participate in the 3x3 and 5x5 men's and women's basketball events at the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand. The players will practice to prepare best professionally before going to Thailand to compete. At the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia in 2023, Vietnamese basketball won a gold medal in the women's 3x3 event.
