The Minister said that in recent times, the functional units of the two Ministries have vigorously implemented the agreed contents between the two sides, focusing on cooperation in training and capacity building for Cuban Ministry of Home Affairs staff; developing documents on cybersecurity cooperation; promoting cooperation in the fields of biotechnology, healthcare and completing procedures for opening the Center for Research on Medical Scientific Products; studying agricultural cooperation to gradually support the Cuban Ministry of Home Affairs in autonomy in production.
Minister Luong Tam Quang suggested that the two sides continue to increase delegation exchanges, high-level and expert contacts to exchange experiences, learn about each other's abilities and strengths to propose solutions and cooperation activities in areas under the functions and tasks of the two sides.
Strengthen cooperation in preventing and combating organized crime, transnational crime, high-tech crime, terrorist crime, human trafficking crime, crimes in the fields of trade, tourism, new types of crimes and non-traditional security threats.
Promote economic development cooperation, focusing on agricultural development in Cuba and transferring medical and biological technologies for development and production in Vietnam.
Speaking at the reception, the Cuban Minister of Home Affairs emphasized that Cuba always appreciates Vietnam's valuable support throughout history, and affirmed that the Vietnam-Cuba relationship has become a model, loyal, pure, and rare symbol of international solidarity, overcoming all geographical borders and the challenges of time.
Minister Lazaro Alberto Alvarez Casas said that in the coming time, the Cuban Ministry of Home Affairs will continue to strengthen cooperation with the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security in all fields, contributing to consolidating and deepening the friendship and strong cooperation between the two sides, towards building the two countries of security, safety and development.
Immediately after the talks, Minister Luong Tam Quang and Minister Lazaro Alberto Alvarez Casas witnessed the signing ceremony of the Cooperation Agreement between the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention, the Ministry of Public Security and the functional unit under the Ministry of Home Affairs of Cuba in the field of cyber security.
