On the morning of June 22, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a meeting of the Central Steering Committee for the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide (5th time), the State Steering Committee for important national projects and works, key projects in the Transport sector (18th time); Promoting disbursement of public investment capital in 2025 (2nd time).
In his opening speech, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that the Government will organize a meeting of Steering Committees to jointly acknowledge, evaluate and review the work that has been implemented in the past time, at the same time to remove bottlenecks and obstacles and set out key tasks in the coming time, especially in the context of rearranging provincial and commune-level administrative units and the two-level local government apparatus officially operating from July 1, 2025.
The Prime Minister stated that 2025 is of special significance; a year of many important events for the country; a year of accelerating and finalizing the implementation of the 5-year Socio-Economic Development Plan 2021-2025, the Medium-term Public Investment Plan for the period 2021-2025; towards 2 100-year strategic goals (strive to be a developing country with modern industry and high average income by 2030; by 2045 to become a developed country with high income).
To achieve strategic goals, the Party, State and Government have identified a growth target of 8% or more in 2025, creating double-digit growth momentum in the next period with the target of 100% public investment disbursement in 2025.
The Prime Minister emphasized the need to make efforts and be determined to complete all goals and tasks in all fields in 2025 as set out in the Resolution of the 13th Congress.
In particular, in the field of transport infrastructure development, it is necessary to complete about 800km of expressway by the end of the year to achieve the goal of putting 3,000km of expressway into operation in 2025, opening the expressway from Cao Bang to Ca Mau.
The Prime Minister stated that public investment is of great significance, contributing significantly to promoting growth, stabilizing the macro economy, ensuring major balances of the economy; creating a foundation for infrastructure development; leading and activating investment in the whole society, strongly attracting private investment and FDI capital flows.
Promote socio-economic development and create new development space for localities, regions and countries; be one of the important growth drivers to promote economic growth; promote production, business, create jobs and livelihoods for people, contributing to ensuring social security.
Meanwhile, eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses is a major, very humane policy of the Party and State, mobilizing the participation of the entire political system, bringing important meaning in many aspects, affirming "national love, compatriotism", demonstrating responsibility, love, and sharing of the whole community.
The Prime Minister emphasized that our Party has no other goal than to firmly protect national independence and sovereignty of the country and bring happiness and prosperity to the people.
"2025 is the year to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Party, the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South, national reunification, and the preparation for the 80th anniversary of National Day, the goal is to make it impossible for people to have no place to live or live in temporary or dilapidated houses" - the Prime Minister emphasized.
The Prime Minister requested delegates to focus on discussing and clarifying the results achieved, shortcomings, limitations, analyzing the causes and responsibilities of agencies and units, the difficulties, obstacles, and "bottlenecks" that have been pointed out before, how much valuable experience has been solved, good lessons, drastic, breakthrough, and feasible solutions in the coming time.
