On April 29, the Standing Committee of Vinh City Party Committee held a meeting of the City Party Committee to listen to and give opinions on the content related to the arrangement of commune-level administrative units and the development of a two-level local government model.
At the end of the Conference, the City Party Committee agreed to collect opinions on the names of the wards after the arrangement of administrative units as follows:
Vinh Yen Truong ward, including the wards and communes: Vinh Tan, Truong Thi, Hung Phuc, Hung Dung, Ben Thuy, Trung Do, Hung Hoa.
Thanh Vinh ward, including the wards and communes: Quang Trung, Le Loi, Cua Nam, Hung Chinh, Dong Vinh, Hung Binh.
Vinh Hung ward, including the wards and communes: Quan Bau, Hung Dong, Nghi Kim, Nghi Lien.
Vinh Phu ward, including the wards and communes: Ha Huy Tap, Nghi Phu, Nghi Duc, Nghi An.
Vinh Loc ward, including the wards and communes: Hung Loc, Nghi Phong, Nghi Xuan, Nghi Thai, Phuc Tho.
Cua Lo ward, including the wards and communes: Nghi Hoa, Nghi Hai, Nghi Huong, Nghi Thu, Thu Thuy, Nghi Thuy, Nghi Tan.
Assign Vinh City People's Committee to collect public opinions on the plan to name the new ward in accordance with regulations, no later than May 5, 2025. Organize a meeting of the City People's Council to approve the plan to name the new ward on May 7, 2025.
Vinh City currently has an area of about 166.22 km2, a population of more than 580,000 people, and is the city-level administrative unit with the largest number of communes and wards in Nghe An province. After the arrangement, Vinh City will have only 6 wards.
