On April 1, the Government Office said that the Government had just issued 2 Resolutions abolishing all Decrees stipulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of 5 agencies under the Government.
In Resolution No. 73/NQ-CP, the Government decided to abolish all 3 following decrees: Decree No. 27/2025/ND-CP dated February 24, 2025 of the Government stipulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of Vietnam News Agency (VNA); Decree No. 46/2025/ND-CP dated February 28, 2025 of the Government stipulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of Voice of Vietnam (VOV); Decree No. 47/2025/ND-CP dated February 28, 2025 of the Government stipulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of Vietnam Television (VTV).
In Resolution No. 74/NQ-CP, the Government decided to abolish the entire Decree No. 32/2025/ND-CP dated February 25, 2025 of the Government stipulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences and Decree No. 38/2025/ND-CP dated February 26, 2025 of the Government stipulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.
The two Resolutions mentioned above take effect from April 1, 2026.
Previously, according to the announcement of the 2nd Conference of the 14th Party Central Committee issued on the afternoon of March 25, the Central Committee agreed on the policy of transferring VTV, VOV, TTXVN, the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences and the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology from government agencies to non-business units of the Party Central Committee.
