On the morning of November 22, the 12th Plenary Session of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties with the theme "In Search of Peace and Reconciliation" opened in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man led a high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese Party and State to attend the conference and delivered an important speech affirming Vietnam's consistent stance in supporting ICAPP's efforts in creating an environment of peace, security and stability in the region.
As a special guest attending the conference, speaking at the opening session, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man sincerely thanked the Cambodian People's Party, especially President of the Cambodian People's Party, President of the Cambodian Senate Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Royal Government of Cambodia Hun Manet and the ICAPP Conference Organizing Committee for their careful preparation for the conference.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man shared: "We highly appreciate the leading role of Cambodia and President Hun Sen personally in the mechanism of this year's international conference of Asian political parties to contribute to maintaining a peaceful and secure environment for common prosperity and development in the region."
The National Assembly Chairman pointed out that the world today is undergoing many great changes with rapid and complex developments. "This reality reflects great obstacles to world peace and human security, and at times even threatens the common prosperity of Asian countries," the National Assembly Chairman shared.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that Asia and ASEAN have continued to make many efforts, actively and proactively put forward many initiatives to contribute to the common efforts to resolve security and political issues of the international community.
In that context, the National Assembly Chairman affirmed that the 12th International Conference of Asian Political Parties with the theme "In Search of Peace and Reconciliation" demonstrates the efforts and commitments of political parties in the region to build solidarity, join hands in cooperation, and contribute to promoting the resolution of conflicts and hotspots.
"As ruling and political parties with a voice and role in strategic planning and policy implementation, we need and can fully promote our common strength through the International Conference of Asian Political Parties to realize the common goal of peace, security, prosperity and development in the world in general and our Asian region in particular," the National Assembly Chairman emphasized.
Sharing with leaders of Asian political parties attending the conference, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man stated that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Vietnam advocates consistently implementing a foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization, diversification of foreign relations, is ready to be a friend, a reliable partner and an active, responsible member of the international community; supports the efforts of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties in creating an environment of peace, security and stability in the region.
"We believe that the key to peacefully resolving current disagreements and conflicts is through dialogue and multilateral cooperation on the basis of equality, mutual respect, and mutually beneficial cooperation, in accordance with international law and the United Nations Charter," affirmed National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.
