On the morning of September 4, on the occasion of attending the 80th Anniversary of the Naxiti Victory of the World People and working in China, Politburo member and President Luong Cuong held talks with General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping.
At the meeting, in a friendly, sincere, trusting and open atmosphere, the heads of the two countries expressed their delight at the positive progress in Vietnam-China relations in recent times, especially after mutual visits between General Secretary To Lam and General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping in two consecutive years 2024 and 2025.
The two sides discussed in depth the directions and major measures to continue to deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, building a Community of Shared Future Vietnam - China with strategic significance in the coming time.

President Luong Cuong suggested that the two sides continue to strengthen high-level and all-level contacts, between key diplomatic, defense and security sectors; improve the effectiveness of theoretical research exchanges; strongly promote substantive cooperation, with key areas such as science and technology, innovation, training of high-quality human resources, accelerate strategic traffic connections with priority given to railway cooperation, raise high-quality investment, promote balanced and sustainable economic - trade, education and tourism cooperation.
President Luong Cuong suggested that the two sides strive to create a favorable atmosphere for the overall bilateral relationship that is progressing well; strengthen propaganda on friendship, organize people-to-people exchanges so that the people of the two countries, especially the younger generation, can better understand the tradition of friendship between Vietnam and China.
Regarding maritime issues, the President emphasized that the two sides need to make efforts to better control and handle disagreements, put themselves in each other's positions, respect each other's legitimate and legal interests, in accordance with international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.

Appreciating the cooperation proposals of President Luong Cuong, General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping agreed to promote exchanges at high and all levels, enhance the exchange of experiences in Party building and national governance; effectively implement the Session of the Steering Committee for bilateral cooperation and the 3+3 strategic dialogue mechanism.
Emphasizing the importance of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping suggested that the two sides soon organize the first meeting of the Joint Railway Cooperation Committee; strengthen cooperation in emerging fields, continue to effectively implement activities in the Humanitarian Exchange Year on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, effectively implementing civil aid projects, bringing practical and specific benefits to the people of the two countries.
