On the afternoon of December 15, in Hanoi, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man - Chairman of the National Election Council ( Council) chaired the 4th meeting of the Council, giving opinions and decisions on a number of important contents that are of significance to election work in the coming time.
Speaking at the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man stated that this election took place in the context of implementing a two-level local government model, a model of urban government organization, and a new model of local government.
Therefore, the preparation for the election of National Assembly deputies for the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2030 term poses a very high requirement.
Up to now, election preparation work has been implemented very actively, urgently and methodically, in accordance with the Central Governments guidelines - the National Assembly Chairman also emphasized some bright spots in the recent election preparation work, such as: synchronous and active participation from the Central to local levels; fast and solid preparation progress, especially in completing documents, developing organization plans, drafting resolutions on voting units;
Human resource work has prepared early, carefully, and in accordance with the process, this is a very important new point compared to the previous election; security work is prepared in the direction of " remotely active"; the application of information technology has made remarkable progress, synchronous with population data.
The National Assembly Chairman noted that there is not much time left to prepare for the election, the work ahead is huge, requiring the Council to work resolutely and scientifically, and at the same time, to be very cautious and meticulous in each decision.
At the meeting, the Council reviewed and gave opinions on the following contents: progress of election preparation since the 3rd Session of the Council to date and a number of key tasks in the coming time; plan to supervise and inspect election work; approved a number of Resolutions on election work.
