On October 17, Vice Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Nhan had a courtesy meeting with Mr. Phonesy Bounmixay - Consul General of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Ho Chi Minh City.

The two provinces have strengthened cooperation, investment, and tourism development links through the state and business (B2B) channels, especially researching and proposing to open a Phu Quoc - Champasac flight route; strengthening the relationship to promote trade and investment between the two sides. Connecting the export of some strong products of Kien Giang province to the Lao market such as: Rice, pepper, frozen fish, frozen squid, frozen shrimp, fish sauce... and vice versa.
Calling on investors from Kien Giang province to invest in industrial parks and clusters in Salavan province in agriculture and aquaculture. Promoting cultural and artistic exchanges between Kien Giang province and Salavan province. Actively exchanging, enhancing understanding and mutual support between the youth of the two provinces.
Mr. Phonesy Bounmixay - Consul General of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Ho Chi Minh City expressed his gratitude for the valuable assistance, both material and spiritual, helping the Lao people overcome the consequences of the recent storm and creating conditions for Lao students to study in Kien Giang.
