According to the decisions, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has transferred and appointed Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hiep, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, to hold the position of Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment. The term of appointment is 5 years.

The above Decisions take effect from March 1, 2025.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment was established on the basis of merging the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, basically inheriting the functions and tasks assigned to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and receiving the State management task of poverty reduction from the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs. According to the Resolution of the National Assembly, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment will start operating from March 1, 2025.

According to the decision to establish the Party Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment signed by Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh - Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Government Party Committee, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment is the Party Committee at the level directly above the grassroots Party organization under the Government Party Committee, on the basis of reorganizing the Party Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the current Party Committee of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. The Party Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment includes 84 affiliated Party organizations with more than 10,000 Party members.
