At the beginning of the rainy season in the Central Highlands, Lao Dong Newspaper reporters traveled through villages and hamlets of ethnic minorities in the province of Dak Lak, in order to directly record the results of implementing the national target program for socio-economic development in the past 5 years.
Mr. Y Ban Are, who has just escaped poverty in borough Trang, Ea Ho commune, Krong Nang district, shared: "five years ago, the roads in the borough had not been concreted, every time it rained, the red and muddy roads were almost impossible to travel by motorbike. In the period of 2021-2025, poor and near-poor households will be supported with clean water, breeding cows, upgrading roads and schools... Thanks to that, the appearance of rural areas has changed a lot. People have the support of the State, and at the same time need to work hard to make life much better".
Mr. Y Ban's confession is also the common voice of many ethnic minorities in Ea Sup, M'Drak, Buon Don districts... Without the support from national target programs and the active mass mobilization work of grassroots cadres, the appearance of villages could not have changed like today.
Vice Chairman of Ea Ho Commune People's Committee, Ms. H' Phi La Nie, and reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper crossed the muddy red areas during the rainy season to reach people's homes. She said: "The commune has 14 villages and hamlets, of which 9 hamlets are ethnic minority areas with special difficulties. Lao Dong Newspaper has truly reflected the reality, contributing to spreading the breath of local life. Compared to the resources allocated by the district, the results of hunger eradication and poverty reduction today are a great effort of the commune government".
She also emphasized: "The articles of Lao Dong Newspaper help readers have a sincere view of efforts to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, develop the economy of ethnic minority areas, and at the same time spread the examples of Ea Ho in overcoming difficulties, motivating other disadvantaged areas".
Mr. Nguyen Thien Van - Acting Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee said: "In recent years, Lao Dong Newspaper reporters have made many quality leaflets, making their mark in the locality. In addition to promptly reflecting difficulties and obstacles for authorities to remove, the newspaper also spreads many typical examples of economic development in ethnic minority areas. Thereby, demonstrating the effectiveness of hunger eradication and poverty reduction, socio-economic development of ethnic minority areas in the period of 2021 - 2025 of local government levels".
According to Mr. Van, Lao Dong Newspaper not only actively promotes the locality but the Golden Heart of Lao Dong Social and Cultural Fund also makes practical contributions to social security activities. A typical example is the construction of Vo Thi Sau Primary School (Buon D'Ham branch), Ea Bong commune, Krong Ana district, to create good learning conditions for children of ethnic minorities.
"Hopefully, with the 96-year tradition of formation and development, Lao Dong Newspaper will continue to accompany local authorities in propagating policies and guidelines to people, especially in extremely disadvantaged ethnic minority areas, contributing to promoting hunger eradication and poverty reduction in the coming period" - Mr. Nguyen Thien Van emphasized.
