On the morning of May 19, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh inspected the construction progress of the National Exhibition Center (Center) in Dong Anh district, Hanoi and held a meeting to prepare for the Exhibition of Socio-Economic Achievements on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day.
Inspecting the Center's construction site, the Prime Minister was delighted by the urgent and exciting construction atmosphere; highly appreciated the efforts of ministries, branches, Hanoi City and Vingroup Corporation after just over 8 months of construction, the large-scale, modern Exhibition Center of international stature is gradually taking shape.
The Prime Minister requested to urgently accelerate the progress, from now until the end of July, July 2025 must basically complete the construction and organization of the center on August 19, the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and serve the socio -economic achievement exhibition on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Day (February 19, 1945 - 2.9.2025).
The Prime Minister requested that along with completing the main items of the Center, it is necessary to synchronously complete auxiliary works, services, and accompanying utilities; exploit the entire space of the Center; build, connect, and synchronously complete modern infrastructure for transportation, electricity, water, and telecommunications.

In the long term, the Prime Minister directs the exploitation and development of the Center into a symbolic project of Hanoi and the whole country in terms of scale, modernity, cultural space, architecture, art, landscape, government, associated with the land of the ancient capital of Co Loa.
Hosting major events here will help form an international exhibition and fair center, worthy of the cultural and historical traditions of the nation, affirming the national stature and the growth of the country.
At the same time, this is also a tourist destination that attracts international tourists and creates conditions for people to enjoy cultural achievements - the Prime Minister emphasized.
The Prime Minister also noted that developing this area into a cultural - historical - artistic complex, developing the cultural and entertainment industry into a spearhead industry, exploiting all space, creating conditions for artists to express their talents, converge and spread the quintessence of national culture, nationwide the world's cultural values and internationalise Vietnamese cultural identity.
In addition, the Prime Minister agreed on the policy of having specific mechanisms and policies for the Center, if necessary, it is possible to hire foreign consultants with capacity and qualifications in organizing major events and Vietnam also needs to have a team to receive technology, knowledge, experience... from abroad.
The National Exhibition Center started construction on August 30, 2024 with a scale of 90 hectares, in the top 10 in the world in terms of total area and exhibition area. The project is located right at the Northeast gateway of Hanoi, the focus of important traffic artery including roads, airspace, and metro, which has been planned and is under construction and completion.
