On September 1, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary To Lam met with President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) Hun Sen on the occasion of the high-ranking Cambodian delegation to Vietnam to attend the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2.
The General Secretary affirmed that the presence of the delegation is a vivid testament to the good relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia, the relationship that has overcome challenges over time, and has been nurtured by generations of leaders and people of the two countries.
President Hun Sen highly appreciated the profound significance of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 of Vietnam, demonstrating the strength of great solidarity, bravery, and resilience of the Vietnamese people, under the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
President Hun Sen emphasized that this is the fourth meeting with General Secretary To Lam since the beginning of 2025; in addition, other senior leaders of the two countries also regularly meet and exchange on the occasion of attending multilateral conferences. That reflects the increasingly trusting and close relationship between the two Parties and the two countries.
President Hun Sen highly appreciated the strong development of economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries; the two countries' trade turnover has reached more than 10 billion USD in 2024 and will soon reach 20 billion USD in the coming time; Vietnam is currently Cambodia's third largest trading partner and Vietnam's investment projects contribute to improving people's lives and socio-economic development in Cambodia.
On this occasion, the two leaders discussed the world and regional situation of mutual concern. In response to President Hun Sen's sharing about the situation on the Thai-Cambodian border, in which the two sides held meetings of the Regional Border Commission (RBC) and the Joint Border Commission (GBC), General Secretary To Lam welcomed the positive results achieved by both sides and said that maintaining peace, stability and cooperation in the Cambodia-Thailand border area is not only important for receiving people from both countries but also contributes to strengthening the common development environment of the whole region.
For its part, Vietnam is always ready to closely and actively coordinate with ASEAN's common efforts, contributing to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development, strengthening internal solidarity and ASEAN's central role.

On the afternoon of September 1, at the National Assembly Headquarters, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) and President of the Cambodian Senate Hun Sen.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized that the presence of the Cambodian high-ranking delegation is a vivid testament to the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two States and peoples of the two countries; the image of Cambodian soldiers participating in parades and parades at the historic Ba Dinh Square will be beautiful images of the solidarity and companionship of the Cambodian people with the Vietnamese people in the important event.
President Hun Sen sincerely thanked Vietnam for helping Cambodia overthrow the Pol Pot epidemic regime and emphasized that what Cambodia has today cannot be separated from the great help of the Vietnamese people, especially the blood and blood sacrifice of the Vietnamese volunteer army. This is a historical truth that no hostile force can distort.
The two leaders were pleased to see that the cooperation between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the Senate and the National Assembly of Cambodia has achieved many good results in recent times.
