Deciding on important issues of the country needs to resolutely prevent and eliminate all influence of group interests and negative impacts from the outside.

On the morning of October 20, at the 10th Session, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man reported on the work of the 15th term of the National Assembly.

According to the National Assembly Chairman, legislative activities have strong innovation in thinking, construction processes, proactiveness, creativity, positivity, and early and remote preparation; especially, to promote the role of "one step ahead of the institution", promptly responding to new situations, meeting practical requirements of life.

Policies always take people and businesses as the center, actively remove difficulties and obstacles to contribute to unleashing production capacity, mobilizing and effectively using all resources for the country's development.

For the first time, the National Assembly submitted to the Politburo for consideration and approval of the Orientation on the Law-making Program for the entire term.

The decision on important issues of the country has been fundamentally innovated; at the same time, revolutionary issues on the arrangement of the state apparatus and the arrangement of provincial administrative units have been decided.

The National Assembly has been exemplary in arranging the apparatus, and at the same time proactively implementing assigned tasks to work with the entire political system to resolutely put the 2-level government model into operation from July 1, 2025, which has been recognized and highly appreciated by the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat.

The 15th National Assembly term has the largest number of sessions ever and is the first term in its history of operation. The National Assembly held 19 sessions, including 9 extraordinary sessions to promptly review and decide on important and urgent contents to meet the requirements set forth in practice.

According to the National Assembly Chairman, the 16th National Assembly term is an important milestone on the new development journey of the country, with the meaning of orienting the future, entering a new era for the Vietnamese people.

The above situation poses a huge requirement and task for the work of the National Assembly, especially the task of perfecting institutions with the requirement of "turning institutional reform into a competitive advantage, into a driving force for development". The 15th National Assembly proposed a number of issues to the 16th National Assembly and the following sessions.

Accordingly, legislative activities need to be identified as a "breakthrough of breakthroughs", must take the lead, pave the way, lead the country's development, encourage creativity, liberate all labor, unlock all resources for development; ensure healthy competition, improve integration capacity.

Supervisory activities need to focus on issues such as land, resource and environmental management, anti-corruption and anti-waste, protection of human rights and civil rights.

Closely linked to reality and people's feedback, increase surveys at the grassroots level, listen to opinions from practice, from voters and the business community to determine the right hot spot, the right bottleneck of the socio-economy, thereby having flexible, timely policy responses and proposals close to reality.

Decision-making activities on important issues of the country need to ensure objectivity and fairness, all decisions need to truly put the national - ethnic interests, the interests of the people first, first of all, resolutely prevent and eliminate all domination of group interests, all negative impacts from the outside.

Continuing to promote the role and responsibility of National Assembly deputies, each National Assembly deputies need to express their aspiration to contribute, dare to think, dare to do, dare to innovate, dare to take responsibility, and truly be a loyal representative of the will and aspirations of the people.
