On September 3, information from the Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee said that it is continuing to organize conferences to collect opinions from former key leaders of the province. Many opinions acknowledge the development results of the locality in the past term such as economic growth, improved infrastructure, effective temporary housing removal programs, and ensured social security.
In addition, delegates also frankly pointed out limitations such as unsustainable growth, limited efficiency in using investment capital, lack of commune-level facilities, and uneven quality of life of Party cells.
In the orientation for the coming term, many proposals were made such as sustainable development associated with science and technology, digital transformation, building agricultural products according to the value chain, attracting investment, administrative reform, modern urban planning; adjusting some indicators such as increasing average budget revenue, increasing the annual poverty reduction rate.
At the meeting, Secretary of the Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee Quan Minh Cuong acknowledged and highly appreciated the enthusiastic and experienced comments, considering this an important basis for the Standing Committee and the Document Subcommittee to receive, supplement and complete the political report and documents to submit to the Congress.
He emphasized that Cao Bang is a revolutionary homeland - despite many difficulties, with political determination and consensus of the political system and the people, the province strives to become a leading locality in the group of provinces with similar conditions.
Previously, on August 28, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, the Politburo and the Secretariat had a working session with the Standing Committee of the Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee to give opinions on the draft documents and personnel projects for the Party Committee.
President Luong Cuong and many Politburo members highly appreciated the serious and elaborate preparation of the Provincial Party Committee, and at the same time oriented Cao Bang to make the most of the potential of "root" tourism.
Focus on developing the border economy associated with national defense and security, promoting the forest economy, investing in connecting transport infrastructure, especially the Dong Dang - Tra Linh, Bac Kan - Cao Bang expressway and the axes to the border gate, the special national relic site.
In addition, the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee also held a conference to collect opinions on the draft Political Report submitted to the Congress. The comments process was widely deployed with 460 conferences, attracting over 13,500 participants, nearly 600 opinions and recommendations were gathered.
According to the head of the Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee, preparing for the 20th Cao Bang Provincial Party Congress is not only a political task but also an opportunity to promote democracy, solidarity, unity, and create a foundation for new developments in the province in the period of 2025 - 2030.
In parallel with preparing for major political tasks, Cao Bang province is still striving to achieve an 8% growth plan.
On September 4, information from the Cao Bang Provincial Statistics Office said that in the first 8 months of 2025, the socio-economic situation of Cao Bang province remained stable with many bright spots.
Total retail sales of goods and services reached nearly VND 8,900 billion, up 13.7%; import-export turnover was nearly 995 million USD, exceeding the annual plan.
Public investment capital disbursed VND 3,408 billion, up 57.8%; Dong Dang - Tra Linh Expressway phase 1 reached 34.3% of the volume and phase 2 started construction with more than VND 12,000 billion.
Local budget revenue reached VND 3,105 billion, up 79% over the same period. However, the agricultural sector also suffered great damage due to African swine fever, reduced food output; and declined processing industry.
