This afternoon (September 31), in Hanoi, the Steering Committee for Foreign Information Work held a Conference to review activities for the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2025.
Attending and chairing the Conference were Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia - Head of the Steering Committee for Foreign Information Work.
Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia stated that foreign information work in the first 6 months of 2025 in the context of our country having many new points and new successes. That poses very high requirements in the coming time.
Recalling the new points in the recent past, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized that the first thing is the revolution of streamlining the apparatus and arranging administrative units, implementing the 2-level local government model.
"The Party's policies and guidelines and adjustments to major recent decisions have received great attention from international friends" - Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia said.
The second highlight is the world context of very complex, unpredictable, and unpredictable developments.
In such a context, we strive and are determined to develop an economy with growth of 8% and move towards double digits with many major decisions on politics, economy, culture, and society. Our Party has also issued 4 Resolutions calling them "four pillars" for national development.
The third highlight is that we are preparing for the 14th National Congress of the Party, summarizing the 40th anniversary of the National Doi Moi. This has received the attention of the people and international friends.
The fourth highlight is that recently, we have many big anniversaries, 70 years of the Dien Bien Phu victory, 50 years of the liberation of the South and national reunification. Vietnam is one of the highlights that international friends are very interested in.
The General Secretary also said that all activities, including propaganda work, both foreign and internal, have created a strong wave of patriotism and nation-loving like now - Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia said and added that with the huge decisions in recent times, there is a role of foreign information work. This is especially important in the context that we have to handle many foreign situations, both international and regional.
The Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission also suggested that information agencies focus on foreign information work, including issues related to industry and trade, the economy, difficulties, challenges, etc.
Referring to many tasks in the coming time, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia said that Vietnam Television plans to launch an overseas television channel. This content is expected to be implemented in September 2025, continuing to spread the image of the country and people of Vietnam to the international community.
