On July 23, in Cao Bang, the Conference announced the decision on the establishment of the 16th Regional Customs Party Committee and decisions on personnel work.
The XVI Regional Customs Party Committee has a scale of 232 Party members, operating in 15 Party cells. At the same time, announced decisions on key personnel: Mr. Nguyen Trung Hai - Head of the Department appointed to hold the position of Party Committee Secretary; Mr. Nguyen The Bang - Deputy Head of the Department holds the position of Deputy Secretary of the 16th Regional Customs Party Committee.
In his speech, Secretary of the Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee Quan Minh Cuong emphasized the core role of the Party Committee in leading and directing the unit to effectively implement digital transformation, modernize customs, and facilitate smooth and transparent import and export activities.
In addition, the Party Committee needs to ensure the completion of the task of collecting the state budget effectively, sustainably and resolutely combating loss of revenue. The fight against smuggling and trade fraud must be promoted with an elite, proactive and drastic customs staff.
In particular, Mr. Quan Minh Cuong requested the Party Committee to focus on internal inspection and supervision; strictly handle violations, especially in sensitive areas, to avoid negative incidents and no "banned areas".
Officially established on July 1, the Head of the XVI Customs Branch has 3 Deputy Heads; 15 civil servants holding the positions of department heads, team leaders and equivalent; 23 civil servants holding the positions of deputy department heads, deputy team leaders and equivalent.
The XVI Regional Customs Branch is headquartered in Cao Bang, managing the area including Cao Bang and Tuyen Quang provinces (after the merger). In this area, there are customs units at and outside the border gate such as: Ta Lung, Tra Linh, Soc Giang, Po Peo, Ly Van (Cao Bang) Customs; Thanh Thuy, Xin Man, Sam Pun International Border Gate Customs and Tuyen Quang Customs (Tuyen Quang).
From July 1 to 20, the import and export turnover of goods through the two provinces of Cao Bang and Tuyen Quang reached 253 million USD; accumulated from the beginning of the year, reached more than 1 billion USD.
The budget revenue of regional Customs 16 accumulated from the beginning of the year to date has reached 1,746 billion VND.
The unit's forces also coordinated and arrested 1 case of transporting and trading drugs and evidence to seize 4 heroin cakes, arresting 4 related subjects in the case.
