Prime Minister finalizes progress of many key transport projects

The Prime Minister set deadlines for key transport projects and requested localities not to "slip" the progress, identifying this as a criterion for evaluating cadres.

On April 9, the Government Office announced that it had just issued Notice No. 168/TB-VPCP on the conclusion of the Government Standing Committee on the inspection results, urging the Inspection Teams to review and remove difficulties and obstacles related to key transport projects planned to be completed in 2025 to achieve the target of 3,000 km of expressway.

Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested the Ministry of Construction and relevant ministries and branches to send a deputy minister in charge of each project, proactively and promptly inspect and resolve problems.

Ministries, localities, and contractors must immediately handle the bottlenecks and take appropriate solutions; attach importance to the work of fighting waste, corruption, and negativity during the implementation process.

Localities must mobilize the entire political system to completely complete site clearance and material supply, not to continuously "slip" the completion progress as committed and determine this as a criterion for evaluating cadres.

Regarding the group of projects that still face many difficulties, the progress has not met the set plan (including 10 projects/291km with a plan to complete in 2025: Ministry of Construction has 1 project/18km; localities have 9 projects/273km) and 2 projects Huu Nghi - Chi Lang and Dong Dang - Tra Linh strive to complete in 2025.

The Prime Minister requested localities and investors to urgently coordinate to handle problems related to site clearance, relocation of technical infrastructure and increase the capacity of material mines as reported by the Ministry of Construction.

Investors, consultants, and contractors have updated the construction progress, clearly defining the "gasoline" road.

Provinces with large volumes of site clearance such as Dong Nai (Bien Hoa - Vung Tau), Khanh Hoa (Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot), Tuyen Quang (Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang), Binh Duong (Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3), Quang Tri (Van Ninh - Cam Lo) focus on directing completion before April 15, 2025 and do not delay the progress.

The provinces of Dong Nai, Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak, Lang Son, Binh Duong, Long An will coordinate with Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) to complete the relocation of high-voltage power lines, without affecting the construction progress.

Da Nang localities (Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan project) and Ha Giang province (Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang project) speed up licensing procedures, increase the capacity of stone quarries, to be completed no later than April 15, 2025.

Long An province (Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3) speeds up the implementation of the intersection with Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway to ensure synchronous exploitation of 20km of the Ben Luc - Long Thanh project on April 30, 2025 (expected on April 19, 2025).

Tuyen Quang, Ha Giang provinces (Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang project), Dong Thap (Cao Lanh - An Huu project) proactively coordinate with the Ministry of Finance in supplementing capital for the project to complete in 2025.

Lang Son province ( Huu Nghi - Chi Lang project) and Cao Bang (Dong Dang - Tra Linh project) direct investors to resolutely implement to ensure completion in 2025.

Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces of Dong Nai and Binh Duong (Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project), Dong Thap (An Huu - Cao Lanh data project), Tuyen Quang (Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang project) review the progress, proactively source materials, have appropriate and effective technical treatment solutions, do not delay the project completion progress.
