At the afternoon meeting on July 30, the Central Steering Committee for Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation announced a decision on consolidating the Steering Committee.
At the Meeting, Mr. Nguyen Hai Ninh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office - announced the Decision on consolidating the Central Steering Committee for science, technology, innovation and digital transformation.
According to the Decision, the Central Steering Committee includes 31 personnel; Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung as Head of the Steering Committee; Politburo Member, Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang as Standing Deputy Head of the Steering Committee.
Speaking at the Meeting, General Secretary and President To Lam affirmed that the initial stage of implementing Resolution 57-NQ/TW is of particular importance, requiring highly focused leadership and direction to unify awareness, remove bottlenecks in institutions, mobilize resources and establish major orientations.
The next stage requires stronger promotion of the Government's role in organizing, implementing, managing and coordinating resources; linking the implementation of the Resolution more closely with the direction and administration of socio-economic development, market development, enterprises, human resources and improving the operational efficiency of all levels of government.
Therefore, the consolidation of the Steering Committee in the direction of the Prime Minister as Head of the Committee is not a change in political determination or lowering the position of Resolution 57; but precisely to further improve the effectiveness and efficiency of organizational implementation, associated with specific socio-economic goals and tasks of the country in the coming period" - General Secretary, President To Lam emphasized.
Although not directly serving as Head of the Steering Committee, the General Secretary and President said that in the coming period, they will still work with the Politburo and the Secretariat to regularly monitor, supervise, and give directions on strategic and important issues in the process of organizing the implementation of the Resolution. The spirit is that the Central Government will not only stop at issuing policies but will pursue implementation to the end so that the Resolution goes into life, creating substantial and measurable changes.
The General Secretary and President requested that along with the consolidation of the Central Steering Committee, departments, ministries, branches, and localities must urgently consolidate the Steering Committee, ensuring synchronization of functions, tasks, operating mechanisms and responsibilities of heads. At the same time, consolidate, strengthen, and improve the operating capacity of the Standing Agency of the Steering Committee at all levels in the direction of streamlining, professionalizing, and having sufficient authority and capacity to advise, urge, and coordinate implementation.
