On the afternoon of August 27, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Home Affairs solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Ministry's founding (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2025) and the 1st Patriotic Emulation Congress (2025 - 2030).
General Secretary To Lam attended the ceremony. Also attending were leaders and former leaders of the Party and State and generations of leaders and civil servants of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.
The 80th anniversary of its founding is a particularly meaningful milestone for the Ministry of Home Affairs, at the same time as the 80th anniversary of the founding of the country, celebrating the success of the August Revolution.

Previously, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Home Affairs Pham Thi Thanh Tra sent a congratulatory letter to all cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers of the Ministry and the Home Affairs sector.
In the letter, the Minister of Home Affairs reviewed the glorious tradition of the Ministry since its establishment under the direct leadership of President Ho Chi Minh, affirmed the important role of the Home Affairs sector over the past 80 years, and expressed his appreciation for the contributions and dedication of generations of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers in the sector.
The Minister emphasized: "Our beloved country of Vietnam is on the threshold of a new era. The revolution of streamlining the apparatus, arranging administrative units, organizing local governments... opens the future path for the country. The burning aspiration for a strong and prosperous Vietnam of many generations has the opportunity to become a reality."
