This morning (13.5), in Hanoi, the People's Army Newspaper (People's Army) in collaboration with the Vietnam Journalists Association and relevant units held a press conference to information about the program of summarizing and awarding the contest on the topic "Protecting the Party's ideological foundation in the new situation" (2024-2025), launching the 5th writing contest (2025-2026).
This is a meaningful activity to celebrate the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1990 - May 19, 2025).

Colonel Le Ngoc Long - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the People's Army newspaper, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Organizing Committee of the contest - said that the contest attracted more than 500 entries from more than 50 press agencies nationwide; including 45% of reporters; 55% of experts, scientists, generals, leaders and commanders of agencies, units and localities.
Of which, the oldest author participating in the contest and winning the prize is 91 years old, the youngest author is 28 years old. This shows the great interest of people from all walks of life in the contest.
Major General Doan Xuan Bo - Editor-in-Chief of the People's Army Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest - said that many works by experts and scientists in depth clarify the basic principles of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's thought with a new approach, profound perspectives, and convincing arguments.
The contest also included many press works with a sharp "battle" spirit, timely criticism, fierce struggle with distorted and against-threatening arguments of hostile and reactionary forces, political opportunities; criticized signs of degradation in political ideology, ethics, lifestyle, "self-evolution", "self-transformation" in social life, especially among a group of cadres and party members.
Through two preliminary and final rounds, the Final Round Council agreed to select 30 excellent works to submit to the Organizing Committee to decide on awarding 3 types of prizes, including: Award for Central newspapers; Award for local newspapers; Award for magazines, including: 3 A prizes, 6 B prizes, 9 C prizes and 12 Encouragement prizes.
The program will be held at 8:00 p.m. on May 15, 2025 at the Hanoi Opera House.
