On June 23, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a meeting of the Government Standing Committee with ministries and branches to assess the situation and propose flexible, timely and effective response solutions to the developments of the conflict situation in the Middle East and recent developments in the world.
Delegates said that the escalating conflict in the Middle East has directly affected the economic situation and many other aspects of the world. In which, oil prices, energy prices increased; transportation and world trade were affected; the risk of increasing inflation...
In that context, Vietnam's economy cannot help but be affected, especially in terms of transportation, export and import of goods, although the economic, trade and investment relationship between Vietnam and the Middle East is not large.
In his concluding remarks, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the spirit of not being passive or surprised in strategy and requested ministries, local branches and businesses to always be ready for the rapid, complex and unpredictable developments of the world and the region.
According to the Prime Minister, the situation has recently become more complicated due to new developments in the Middle East, affecting the global economy, including Vietnam, in terms of growth, prices, exchange rates, capital flow, transport fares, etc.
The Prime Minister emphasized that it is important that we promptly grasp, assess the situation and identify tasks, solutions, respond quickly, flexibly, promptly, appropriately, and effectively.
According to the Prime Minister, the situation has difficulties and challenges, but there are also opportunities and advantages for us to continue to restructure the economy in a green, fast and sustainable direction.
In addition, to promote market restructuring, products, and consumer production in the direction of diversifying markets, products, and supply chains; further promote the spirit of effort of businesses, the entire people, and the entire political system in accordance with the situation.
We do not change our goals, persevere, and be steadfast in the set goals, maintain courage, calmness, and judgment, continue to promote the achievements and experiences gained from the beginning of the term in responding to sudden developments and arising problems every year - the Prime Minister stated.
