Ambassador Hynek Kmonicek emphasized that Vietnam has a very special significance for the Czech Republic.

On the afternoon of February 3, at the Presidential Palace, President Luong Cuong received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic Hynek Kmonicek to say goodbye on the occasion of the end of his term of office in Vietnam.

Congratulating Ambassador Hynek Kmonicek on completing his term of office in Vietnam, the President highly appreciated the Ambassador's important contributions to the positive development in many fields in the traditional friendly relations and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and the Czech Republic, especially since the two countries upgraded relations to a Strategic Partnership in January 2025.

The President requested that in the coming time, the two sides continue to promote delegation exchanges at all levels, especially at high levels, across all channels and people-to-people exchanges to strengthen political trust and mutual understanding, as well as soon approve the Action Plan to implement the framework of the Vietnam - Czech Strategic Partnership.

President Luong Cuong requested the Czech side to facilitate the issuance of visas to Vietnamese citizens entering the Czech Republic. Airlines of the two countries should soon study and open direct flights between Vietnam and the Czech Republic to create favorable conditions for trade and tourism development, contributing to connecting the people of the two countries.

The President wished the Czech Government to continue to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese citizens to integrate well and stabilize their lives, promote the role of a bridge, contribute to strengthening mutual understanding between the two nations, and encourage economic and educational cooperation between the two countries.

The President believes that, with his extensive experience and deep understanding of Vietnam and in his new position, the Ambassador will continue to pay attention, support and make practical contributions, contributing to promoting the Vietnam - Czech Strategic Partnership to become more in-depth and effective.

Ambassador Hynek Kmonicek emphasized that Vietnam has a very special significance for the Czech Republic, being one of the two Asian countries with strong relations, with many citizens studying and working in Czechoslovakia in the past as well as in the Czech Republic today.

Pleased to see that bilateral trade turnover has increased more than 2 times in recent years, Ambassador Hynek Kmonicek thanked the Vietnamese side for creating favorable conditions in issuing visas to Czech citizens entering Vietnam, contributing to promoting investment and tourism between the two countries to grow positively.

The Ambassador affirmed that the new Government of the Czech Republic continues to consider Vietnam as a very important partner in Asia and wishes to create conditions for Vietnamese workers to return to the Czech market, creating a new breath of life for the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic.

Expressing deep affection for Vietnam, the Ambassador affirmed that he considers Vietnam as his second homeland and emphasized that, in any working position, the Ambassador personally will continue to actively contribute to consolidating and developing friendly and cooperative relations, and continue to make every effort to bring cooperative relations between the two countries to a new height.
