Speaking to review the tradition to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), Secretary of the District 1 District Party Committee Duong Anh Duc stated: The victory of April 30, 1975 is the crystallization of patriotism, indomitable will, solidarity and strategic spirit of the whole Party, the entire people, our entire army.
In this sacred moment, we respectfully commemorate President Ho Chi Minh, the founder, training and leadership of our Party, the genius leader of the Vietnamese nation; at the same time commemorating and deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs, Vietnamese heroic mothers, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, who sacrificed both blood and bones, spring, for the goals of independence, unity, for the happy life of the people today.
Over 50 years of construction and development, District 1 has always been a central area, playing a particularly important role in the administrative, economic and cultural structure of Ho Chi Minh City. The Party Committee, the authorities and the people of District 1 have united and tried to overcome many difficulties, build a strong political system, develop comprehensively in terms of economy, culture and society, maintain national defense and security, ensure social order and safety.
District 1 has contributed the highest budget contribution among districts for many consecutive years; has completed the goal of no more poor households according to Ho Chi Minh City standards for the period 2021 - 2025. Social security, health care, education, and policy care have received attention and have had many positive changes.
In addition, District 1 is a pioneer locality in administrative reform, building a digital, modern and transparent government; Party building, people's mobilization, and patriotic emulation are increasingly in-depth and effective, creating high consensus in society. The people's trust in the leadership of the Party and the government has been constantly strengthened.
District 1 Party Secretary Duong Anh Duc emphasized: Promoting revolutionary traditions and advantages of the central area, the Party Committee and People of District 1 are determined to strongly arouse the spirit of patriotism, aspiration to rise up, promote the development of a knowledge economy, high-quality services, build District 1 to be increasingly "Safe - Civilized - Modern - meaningful", continuing to make worthy contributions to the common development of Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country in the period of integration and innovation.
On this occasion, the District People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 37 collectives and 72 individuals with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement to implement 50 projects to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day in District 1.
