Korea expands Visas: A golden opportunity for international students in Vietnam
The Korean Ministry of Justice raises the D-10 visa (working visa) validity from 2 to 3 years, allowing internships at enterprises for a maximum of 1 year. Applicants with high capacity are exempted from financial documents; students graduating from the Top 200 in the world or achieving TOPIK 6 can easily transfer their E-7 visa to work long-term.
The K-Trainee (visa D-4-2K) program is also applied, allowing high school students or graduate students to do a 1-year internship at a Korean enterprise. Vietnam is in the group of 9 Asian countries selected for the pilot.

Mr. Le Dong Dan - General Director of the BUSA International Education & Study Organization - commented: "The new visa policy helps reduce barriers, creating a clearer working and legal settlement roadmap. This is the golden time for Vietnamese students to prepare for study abroad."
The "learning while working" model continues to be a trend when the income from overtime work of Korean students fluctuates between 20-60 million VND/month, even 60-100 million VND/month for those who are hard-working and have good health.
Korean study abroad programs in 2026 at BUSA Study Abroad
For high school students, the D4-1 (language learning) program is still a popular choice. After 6-12 months of language acquisition, students can transfer to college (D2-1), university (D2-2) or master's (D 2-3). BUSA also launched a D2-6 student exchange program for bad records or visa violations.
The September 2026 school year is expected to be a peak due to the same high school graduation date in Vietnam. BUSA recommends that parents and students start learning the language and prepare documents from the end of 2025 to ensure progress. Tran Hai An, a 12th grade student in Hanoi, shared: I chose BUSA because everything was clear, especially the 5 written commitments. I have been preparing since the beginning of 2026 to learn a language, and will then set foot in Korea in September 2026.
In particular, the D 2-3 Master's Visa with E-Visa debt allows students to go without TOPIK and the TOPIK Urban D2 Visa, which is being piloted until the end of 2026, also allows students to owe TOPIK. Both of these special features have a lot of overtime and the Visa rate is very easy.
