The Lao Dong Newspaper Legal Consulting Office replied:
Article 17 of Decree 273/2025/ND-CP (effective from October 20, 2025) regulating the organization and operation of the People's Public Security inspectorate stipulates the dismissal of inspectors as follows:
1. Of course, the inspectorates are dismissed in the following cases:
a) Retiring, being discharged from the army, transferring to another job or job;
b) Disciplined by stripping the title of People's Public Security;
c) Convicted by the Court and the verdict or decision that has come into legal effect.
2. The Minister of Public Security shall decide to dismiss inspectors in the following cases:
a) Due to health reasons, family circumstances or other reasons that cannot be guaranteed to complete assigned tasks;
b) Performing prohibited acts as prescribed in Article 6 of the Law on Inspection;
c) There were acts of fraud or dishonest declaration in the application for appointment to inspector positions;
d) Other cases as prescribed by law.
3. Procedures for dismissal of inspectors
a) The natural dismissal of inspectors is calculated from the time the decisions and judgments take effect;
b) The Head of the Public Security of the unit or locality directly manages the inspectors based on Clause 2 of this Article, is responsible for completing the dossier and having a written request on the dismissal of the inspectors sent to the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Public Security;
c) Based on the proposal of the police unit or locality, the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Public Security shall submit to the Minister of Public Security for consideration and decision;
d) The head of the unit or locality police directly manages the inspector responsible for notifying the dismissal decision; revoking the inspection card for the dismissed officer and sending it to the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Public Security.
Thus, the dismissal of People's Public Security inspectors is regulated as above.
