In the 2025 admissions season, some top universities have reduced their enrollment quotas, or even completely eliminated the high school transcript review method. Meanwhile, on the other hand, many schools still prioritize this admission method.
At Hanoi Law University, the total expected enrollment target for 2025 is about 2,650 students. In particular, the school plans to continue to consider admission based on the results of the 10th, 11th, and 12th grade transcripts according to the specific combinations determined for each major and consider converting international language certificates.
Hanoi University of Industry also considers the three-year high school scores of three subjects in the combination, but not independently like last year, but combines international certificates, excellent student awards, Hanoi National University's ability assessment test scores, or Hanoi University of Science and Technology's thinking assessment.
Similarly, the Vietnam Women's Academy will also maintain the method of considering high school transcripts in the 2025 admission season. With method 3 of considering transcripts, the academy will consider the academic results of all 3 years of grades 10, 11 and 12. It is expected that this method will open for registration from May 2025.
In addition, regarding the admission combinations, the school uses the combinations A00, A01, C00, D01, D09, D14 and may add some more combinations for each major after the official admission announcement.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology plans to eliminate the method of considering transcripts for 3 semesters (grade 11 and semester 1 of grade 12) but still maintain the method of considering transcripts according to a combination of 3 subjects in grade 12.
University of Finance - Marketing, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education, Ho Chi Minh City Banking University..., also plan to consider high school transcripts for admission in 2025.
In 2025, the first batch of students studying the 2018 General Education Program will take the high school graduation exam. Therefore, university admissions are expected to have many changes.
According to the draft admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), if considering academic records, schools must use a combination of at least 3 subjects, including Math or Literature with a proportion of one-third or more of the total score. Schools must also use the learning results of the entire 12th grade year, instead of using scores from 3-5 semesters like previous admission seasons.
In addition, the Ministry of Education and Training plans to tighten early admission to 20% of the target instead of having no control as before.
With the expectations in the 2025 enrollment regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, Dr. Nguyen Phi Long - Head of Training Department of Vietnam Women's Academy - said that the competition rate for admission by considering academic records this year will increase.
Last year, in terms of considering transcripts, the admission score of Vietnam Women's Academy was highest in the Multimedia Communications major with 25.5 points; the lowest was in the Gender and Development major with 19 points.
Mr. Long said that the expected admission score by considering academic records in 2025 of the academy will be at least as low as in 2024. Therefore, candidates and parents should calculate, consider, and carefully research the admission information of the schools when choosing this admission method.
