Ms. Duoc added that her husband's health is now stable and he did not break his arm or neck after jumping from the building. Currently, singer To Thanh Phuong has a brain hemorrhage and is being monitored by doctors.
His wife added that singer To Thanh Phuong jumped off a building at noon on October 1, at an apartment building on Su Van Hanh Street (District 10, HCMC).
When reporters asked about the information that male singer To Thanh Phuong jumped to his death due to debt and poverty, Ms. Duoc denied this.
She said: "The information that my husband jumped off the building because of debt is false. My husband has been sick for many years and has to take medicine that causes hallucinations. The doctor also concluded this. That's why, when he had hallucinations, he jumped off the building.
Before that, many people rumored that I took his money and went back to my hometown so he thought of doing something stupid, but this information is wrong."
Singer To Thanh Phuong was born in 1961 in Ca Mau. In 1976, he joined the professional music industry by joining the Minh Hai Music and Dance Troupe as a singer.
In 1985, To Thanh Phuong won the National Gold Medal for Professional Music and Dance with the song "Singing about my homeland". In 1989, singer To Thanh Phuong continued to win the National Light Music Star Award with the song "Improvisation on the Bridge".
