Ready for the big festival
According to the Ca Mau Provincial Election Commission, due to specific geographical conditions, the province has requested opinions and been approved by the National Election Council to organize early voting in the two Hon Chuoi and Hon Khoai island clusters on March 13, 2026. These are areas far from the mainland, travel depends on weather conditions and sea transport.

At the two island clusters of Hon Chuoi (belonging to Song Doc commune) and Hon Khoai island (belonging to Dat Mui commune), preparations for early election day have been deployed many days in advance. Localities have established election teams, fully prepared ballot boxes, ballots, documents, forms and necessary conditions to serve voters.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Quon - Deputy Political Commissar of Hon Chuoi Border Guard Station, Head of Election Team No. 3 (Song Doc commune) - said that the Unit's Command has advised the Commune People's Committee to establish 01 Election Team on the island; the polling station is located at Hon Chuoi Border Guard Station Headquarters and introduced 02 Border Guard station officials to participate in the Election Team. At the same time, assign officials to review and compile voter lists on the island; coordinate with the Commune Election Committee to prepare sufficient facilities to serve the election work. Up to now, Election Team No. 03, Song Doc commune has completed the preparation work to ensure compliance with regulations, ready for early elections on March 13, 2026.

Polling stations on the islands are all located at the headquarters of the Border Guard Station, ensuring convenience for election organization as well as security and order protection. The Border Guard force coordinates with local authorities to review, compile voter lists, and publicly post them in accordance with regulations.
The work of decorating the polling area, preparing facilities and means to serve the election was completed. At the same time, functional forces developed plans to ensure security and order, ready to support voters in the process of participating in voting.
According to local leaders, although the terrain conditions on the island are still difficult, thanks to early proactive preparation, all stages of election organization are implemented on schedule, ensuring compliance with the provisions of the Election Law.
Strengthen propaganda for voters to fully participate
In parallel with the preparation of facilities, forces on the island also promoted propaganda to help voters understand the meaning of the election and actively participate in voting.
At Hon Chuoi island, the Hon Chuoi Border Guard Station force coordinated with the Song Doc commune government to organize propaganda in many forms such as a loudspeaker system, mobile propaganda groups to each household. The content of propaganda focused on the rights and obligations of voters, the list of candidates as well as the time and location of voting.

According to the list posted, there are 159 voters on Hon Chuoi island. Most people live scattered on rocky rapids and rafts around the island, so propaganda work is deployed flexibly so that all voters can grasp the information.
Mr. Le Van Ut - a resident living on Hon Chuoi island - said that thanks to regular propaganda by Border Guard officers, households around the island all know the voting time.
People on the island are aware of their responsibilities, so everyone is looking forward to the election day to exercise their civil rights," Mr. Ut shared.
Local authorities also mobilize ship owners and vehicle owners to create conditions for fishermen operating around the island area to vote. Those who do not go to the mainland can register to participate in voting on the island according to regulations.
Along with that, on Hon Khoai island, the Dat Mui commune government strengthened propaganda for voters about the time and location of early elections, and guided on how to vote in accordance with regulations.

Police, Military and Border Guard forces coordinate to develop plans to ensure security and order during the election, and at the same time organize the protection and transportation of ballot boxes to the mainland safely after the vote counting ends.
According to local leaders, to date, all preparations for early elections in the two island clusters have been completed. With the careful preparation of the government and task forces, voters in Hon Chuoi and Hon Khoai are ready to participate in the great festival of the whole people, contributing to ensuring the election takes place safely and in accordance with regulations.
