On June 19, Mr. Tran Duy Khanh - Director of the Public Service Management Board of Dong Hoi City (Quang Binh Province) said that the unit is mobilizing maximum human resources and machinery to clean up garbage dumped on Nhat Le and Bao Ninh beaches after the impact of storm No. 1 and floods in early June.
After the storm, garbage continuously drifted to Nhat Le and Bao Ninh beaches, making collection difficult. The government and forces are making efforts to clean up to soon restore a clean and beautiful landscape to key tourist destinations.

According to Mr. Khanh, the main types of waste washed away by waves are buckets, branches, rotten firewood, plastic packaging, plastic bottles and household waste. A large amount of garbage stretches across the beaches, causing serious environmental pollution, while significantly affecting the city's aesthetics and tourism activities during the peak summer season.
"It is currently the beach tourism season, but the beach is flooded with garbage. We have mobilized maximum forces, combined with youth union members, police, and military to focus on collecting and handling. The goal is to clean the beach as quickly as possible to serve tourists, Mr. Khanh shared.

However, cleaning up the trash is facing a big challenge. Every time the collection is completed during the day, in the early morning of the next morning, a new amount of garbage continues to be brought in by the waves.
Mr. Khanh said that this is not only a cleaning task but also a responsibility to preserve the image of the coastal tourism city.
Currently, the Dong Hoi City Public Service Management Board has collected hundreds of cubic meters of various types of waste, but the amount of waste shows no signs of stopping. In this context, the unit hopes to receive more coordination from organizations, individuals, communities and local authorities in collecting garbage and maintaining marine environmental hygiene.
