On May 16, information from Thanh Hoa Provincial Police said that from the beginning of 2025 to now, during the process of patrolling, controlling, and ensuring security and order, Thieu Hoa Town Police (Thien Hoa District) have detected and promptly prevented 5 cases of suicide by jumping off the bridge.
Most recently, at around 7:00 p.m. on May 14, in the Van Ha bridge area, a woman about 35 - 40 years old had intended to commit suicide. After receiving the report from the people, 2 officers of Thieu Hoa town police quickly arrived to advise and stop this woman.
After about 30 minutes of persistent persuasion, the police force successfully advised the woman to give up her idea. It is known that this person resides in Dong Tien commune, Thanh Hoa city. Due to family conflicts, during the conflict, she drove her motorbike to Van Ha bridge to commit suicide.
After being encouraged and given a breakthrough in ideology, the woman gradually stabilized her psychology. At 9:00 p.m. the same day, the family went to the town police station to take her home.
