From March 1, 2025, An Giang Provincial Police officially received and deployed the task of ensuring security and order at Rach Gia Airport. After more than 10 months of implementation, the Aviation Security Team under the Immigration Management Department has effectively promoted its core role, showing proactive and professional spirit, contributing to ensuring absolute safety for civil aviation activities to take place stably and smoothly, especially in the stage of arranging and merging administrative units.
In the security control area of the departure terminal, besides the airport security force, officers and soldiers of the Provincial Police directly monitor security and check procedures for domestic flights. Security assurance work is implemented seriously and in accordance with procedures, not allowing violations of the law to occur; aviation procedures are carried out quickly and conveniently, creating maximum conditions for passengers.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Truong Giang - Head of the Aviation Security Team, Immigration Management Department, An Giang Provincial Police, said: "Over more than 10 months of receiving and deploying tasks, the An Giang Provincial Police force has gradually mastered the process, proactively in ensuring security and safety at Rach Gia Airport. In the special context of the 14th National Party Congress, we have proactively implemented security protection plans, from strict control of flights to coordination with functional units, ensuring that no incidents occur.
Since receiving and performing new tasks at Rach Gia Airport, the Aviation Security Force of An Giang Provincial Police has ensured absolute security and safety for nearly 8,700 flights, including 127 commercial flights with nearly 5,000 passengers; detected 34 dangerous items, handled according to regulations; promptly detected, controlled and handed over to the local police to handle 3 subjects showing signs of "ice stones", mental illness... In particular, throughout the task implementation process, no incidents causing insecurity and disorder in the Port area occurred. Along with the entire Provincial Police force, the Aviation Security Team has synchronously deployed many flexible coordination measures with the Airport Security force to effectively implement all aspects of security and order assurance, especially during the 14th Party Congress.
Not only performing well the task of maintaining order and safety, the Aviation Security Team under the Immigration Management Department also proactively coordinates with relevant units to gradually complete the process and techniques for operating the security system in the transition period.
