Urgently repair many serious landslides in Dinh Hoa and Thai Nguyen

NGỌC MINH |

Dozens of landslides on main traffic routes in Dinh Hoa district, Thai Nguyen are being urgently repaired before the flood season with a total cost of more than 16 billion VND.

After storm No. 3 in September 2024, many roads in Dinh Hoa district were seriously eroded. The route passes through many mountainous terrains, a large amount of rock and soil separates traffic, posing a constant danger to vehicles participating in traffic.

Faced with the above situation, the People's Committee of Dinh Hoa district has implemented many investment projects to repair and overcome the landslide situation to restore and ensure traffic safety for people and vehicles.

Some serious landslide repair projects are being urgently implemented such as projects to handle and repair landslides on the roadbed at Km3+200m of Tan Thinh - Khe Thi road worth more than 4.7 billion VND; overcome landslides of Lang Trang suspension bridge abutment, Tan Duong commune, nearly 1.5 billion VND; handle and overcome landslides on district roads and commune roads in Tan Duong commune with more than 8.1 billion VND. Transporting landslides on district and commune roads in Tan Thinh commune is worth nearly 1.4 billion VND.

According to the reporter's records in mid-April 2025, projects are being implemented synchronously on many routes in Dinh Hoa district. Dozens of workers and machinery were mobilized to implement the project. A large amount of rock and soil was leveled, creating a flat surface before reinforcing and overcoming the landslide site.

According to the current plan, the landslide recovery progress at the above projects is from 50-85% of the volume, expected to be completed by the second quarter of this year.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh (Tan Duong commune, Dinh Hoa district) said that when storm No. 3 swept through, many traffic routes were seriously cut off. The landslides and slippery roads have seriously affected the travel of local people. The landslide also threatens the safety of traffic participants. Dinh Hoa is a mountainous district, so traffic is very complicated, especially during the rainy season or flood season.

"After being eroded, there are projects to overcome the consequences, so everyone is quite assured. The local artery roads are being restored and reinforced to ensure safety. The local people are very excited when the projects are implemented in time. The landslides are repaired very quickly, serving the travel needs of the people.

Similarly, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung (Dinh Hoa district, Thai Nguyen) said that after the flood, the Tan Thinh - Khe Thi road was seriously damaged. The landslide on the embankment affected people's travel. Every time I pass by here, I worry.

The landslide recovery project was implemented promptly. The construction of many road repairs will help synchronize traffic infrastructure. Hopefully the projects will be completed before this year's flood season so that people no longer worry.

On April 20, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Nong Thi Phuong - Chairman of the People's Committee of Tan Duong Commune (Dinh Hoa District) said that the landslide recovery project in the commune is expected to be completed in May 2025, before the rainy and flood season. Local people are very excited and looking forward to the project. When completed, it will help synchronize traffic infrastructure, ensure safety for people and vehicles, and will be a condition to promote the economic and social development of the locality.
