The Thang Long - Bac Ninh waste-to-energy plant project invested by Thang Long Energy Environment Joint Stock Company has a total cost of about VND1,400 billion with a total area of about 5 hectares, a capacity to process 500 tons of waste/day, a power generation capacity of 11 MW, using advanced technologies and equipment imported directly from Finland.
Officially operating since May 5, 2025, the plant is currently receiving and treating household waste for Bac Ninh city and Que Vo town with a volume of about 350 tons of waste/day.

Directly inspecting the operation of the Plant, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan emphasized that Bac Ninh is the first and only province in the country to collect and treat all household waste using high-tech, advanced waste-to-energy technology in the world.
In the coming time, Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan suggested that Thang Long Energy Environment Joint Stock Company urgently research and complete the thorough treatment of waste odors arising from the input stage to the treatment process; connect the transmission of data information on indicators on wastewater, emissions, sludge, and ash treatment to the Monitoring Center of the Department of Agriculture and Environment.
Regarding the recommendations of the Company, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to work with the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Bac Giang province to review the amount of waste and treatment in Bac Giang province to develop a plan to regulate the amount of waste right after merging the two provinces of Bac Ninh - Bac Giang, ensuring the environmental treatment as well as waste source according to the treatment capacity for the factory.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province also agreed with the policy of adjusting the waste treatment capacity to 600 tons/day and night when the plant meets the conditions for handling a sufficient capacity of 500 tons/day and night.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested waste treatment companies in the province at the latest on June 30 to complete the construction of waste treatment unit price to send to the Department of Agriculture and Environment for appraisal; At the latest on 30.7, the settlement file must be completed to the Department of Finance.
