Ho Chi Minh City Police fined traffic violations over VND2.7 billion

HCMC - Since the beginning of the year, the Traffic Police (HCMC Police) have handled thousands of traffic violations, collecting more than 2.7 billion VND in fines.

On the afternoon of March 20, at a regular press conference on the socio-economic situation, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thang Long, Deputy Head of the General Staff Department, Ho Chi Minh City Police, informed that from the beginning of 2025 to now, the Traffic Police of Ho Chi Minh City Police have handled 3,548 cases of traffic violations, with a total estimated fine of more than 2.7 billion VND.

In particular, common violations include stopping and parking in violation of regulations (2,219 cases), picking up and dropping off passengers in violation of regulations (134 cases) and violations related to the activities of "illegal buses and illegal stations".

To continue to ensure traffic order and safety, Ho Chi Minh City Police will strengthen inspection and handling of violations, especially violations related to the operation of passenger vehicles. The authorities will step up the application of technology, installing surveillance cameras at "hot" pick-up and drop-off points in violation of regulations.

Ho Chi Minh City Police also arranged officers to receive feedback from people about traffic situation through many information channels, including traffic police, VNeID, VNeTraffic, 1022 applications, Ho Chi Minh City Digital Citizen, TTGT, Help 114... to promptly handle violations and discipline officers and soldiers if there are violations.
