The Vietnam Railway Authority said that according to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on the morning of June 10, the low pressure area in the North East Sea area strengthened into a tropical depression. The center of the tropical depression at 4:00 a.m. is about 360 km east-southeast of Hoang Sa archipelago. Due to the influence of the tropical depression (likely to strengthen into a storm), the North East Sea and the North of the central East Sea will have thunderstorms, strong winds of level 6-7, gusts of level 9.

To proactively respond to the situation of rain and floods caused by the influence of tropical depressions that may occur in the coming days, the Vietnam Railway Authority requires the above agencies and units to implement a number of contents.

Vietnam Railway Corporation and its units need to organize inspections of works and vulnerable locations at risk of insecurity caused by rain and floods and reinforce to ensure train safety.

Strictly implement the patrol regime, secure works, vulnerable locations, key areas such as: Bridges, tunnels, weak roads, easily flooded, railway works, ensure smooth information, serve train safety; areas that often have flash floods, steep mountain passes, rocks falling, receding soil, railway areas downstream of dykes, irrigation dams, reservoirs...

Proactively concentrate materials, equipment and human resources to be ready to overcome the consequences of rain and floods and ensure smooth traffic, ensuring safety for people, construction equipment, and construction items when affected by rain and floods when incidents occur; special attention should be paid to works in mountainous areas or when there are sudden floods.

When natural disasters occur, direct units to adjust the fishing and train operation plan to reduce the number of trains passing through or stopping in areas affected by natural disasters; develop a plan for goods storage, transportation of spare materials, passenger transportation, and fully prepare food, food, drinking water, medicine, and medical supplies in case the train has to stop due to floods.

Strictly implement the on-duty regime and report to Vinasarcom.

The Railway Department also directs the Departments under the Department to perform tasks according to the regulations on the organization and operation regulations of the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control of the Vietnam Railway Authority.
