The City's Traffic and Agricultural Construction Investment Project Management Board said that it has issued the first bidding documents for the project to renovate the Cach Mang Thang Tam - Thang Long - Le Thanh Nghi - Hoa Xuan bridge intersection cluster.
This package is a survey consulting work, preparing a feasibility study report, with a total value of nearly 4.9 billion VND. The dossier requires the winning bidder to apply the construction information model (BIM), the implementation period is 60 days. According to the bid opening results, there is only one consortium of five consulting units specializing in transportation, seaports and underground works participating in the bidding.
Hoa Xuan Bridge is the axis connecting the city center with new urban areas in the South such as Hoa Xuan, Hoa Quy. However, in the past 5 years, the rapid urbanization has caused traffic through the bridge to be overloaded frequently. Roads such as Thang Long, Le Thanh Nghi, Cach Mang Thang Tam, Nguyen Phuoc Lan, and 2 Thang 9 are often congested, especially during rush hour. In fact, at around 6:45 - 7:30 and 17:00 - 18:00 every day, hundreds of vehicles jostle each other through the Hoa Xuan bridge area.
Faced with practical pressure, from 2023, Da Nang will implement a number of temporary solutions such as banning cars during rush hour, mobile barriers at Thang Long intersection, increasing traffic police regulation... However, these measures are not enough to meet the demand for traffic volume.

In June 2025, the City People's Committee officially approved the investment policy for this intersection renovation project with a total capital of more than VND 1,570 billion, divided into two component projects. Of which, the site clearance project is worth more than VND 129.5 billion, implemented by the City Land Fund Development Center; the technical infrastructure construction project is worth more than VND 1,440 billion, invested by the Traffic and Agricultural Project Management Board, implemented from 2025 to 2029.
According to the design, the current Hoa Xuan bridge will be kept intact and a new branch will be built downstream to divert traffic. At the Cach Mang Thang Tam - Thang Long nut, an underpass will be built combining the service roads on both sides to reduce traffic conflicts.
Le Thanh Nghi Street will be expanded towards the park (from Le No to the bridgehead), connecting to Khue Trung Lake. Do Xu Bridge will also be expanded, reorganizing the turn from Le Thanh Nghi to Cach Mang Thang Tam to regulate traffic flow more appropriately.
The project is expected to remove major traffic bottlenecks in the area, creating conditions for urban development in the South of the city.
