Recently, Mr. Vu A Bang - Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee - signed a decision on adding a Bank for names of streets, roads and public works in Dien Bien province in 2025.
Accordingly, the list has 28 additional names, including: famous people, generals, heroes of the armed forces, and heroic Vietnamese mothers.
Notable on the list are familiar names, such as: Writer To Hoai (1920-2014) - author of the famous work "De me phien tay"; writer Nguyen Cong Hoan (1903 1977) - author of many works of critical realism; writer Huu Mai (1926-2007) - author of memories of General Vo Nguyen Giap...

In particular, the list has many artists and soldiers who directly participated and had valuable compositions about the Dien Bien Phu Campaign. Among them, there are two artists Nguyen Bich and Mai Van Hien, two authors who co-composed the "Dien Bien Soldier" Badge. Artist Ngo Manh Lan - who wrote vivid sketches of "Dien Bien Phu Front", currently kept at the Dien Bien Phu Victory Museum - was also honored.
The mention of famous people in Vietnamese history in the Bank for Street Names and Public Works is not only a recognition and gratitude for their great contributions to the cultural and revolutionary cause of the nation, but also an important contribution to educating the tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source".

On August 14, Dien Bien province held a ceremony to name the street "Pham Van Cuong" in Pom La village, Muong Thanh ward. Pham Van Cuong Street is 1,136m long, starting at Huu Mai Street (road to the center of Muong Thanh Ward), ending at the intersection next to Nam Linh Trang gas station.
