Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee Pham Thanh Ngai has just signed Decision No. 1716 on declaring an emergency situation of landslides on the banks of Tien River, in Tan Quoi Hamlet, Tan Long Commune, Dong Thap Province (from An Long ferry terminal - Tan Quoi to the upstream).
According to this Decision, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province decided to announce an emergency situation of landslides on the Tien River bank, in the area of Tan Quoi hamlet, Tan Long commune, Dong Thap province (from An Long ferry terminal - Tan Quoi to the upstream).
Due to the impact of heavy rain, floods rose rapidly, combined with the high frequency of inland and international waterway traffic from August 2025 to present. The landslide situation on the Tien River bank in Tan Quoi Hamlet, Tan Long Commune, Dong Thap Province has been happening, becoming extremely complicated and increasingly serious, causing complete damage to the property of 5 households, directly threatening the safety of life and property of about 43 households.
The scope of emergency application is about 360m long (From An Long - Tan Quoi ferry terminal to the upstream), threatening the safety of life and property of 39 households living in the landslide area, with the risk of landslides at any time. Of which, 24 households are living near the riverbank and need to be urgently evacuated to a safe place.
The Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee requested the People's Committee of Tan Long Commune to urgently organize the evacuation of 24 households located near the riverbank to safe places, closely monitor the landslide developments, review the landslide belt, urgently organize and continue to mobilize households at high risk to ensure absolute safety of life, minimize damage to people's property; put up ropes, install warning signs in dangerous areas, ensure the "four on-site" motto for any unexpected situations that may occur, ensure absolute safety of people's lives, minimize damage to people's property.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment shall urgently coordinate with relevant agencies and units to organize surveys and assessments to determine the scope of impact that needs to be handled; consult with professional units and consult experts on measures that need to be implemented immediately to prevent landslides from occurring; at the same time, propose fundamental solutions according to the provisions of the law on construction management and related legal provisions, and report to the Provincial People's Committee before December 9, 2025, the Decision of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province clearly stated.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province assigned the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with the People's Committee of Tan Long commune to find solutions to ensure the safety, life and property of people traveling through the Tan Quoi - An Long ferry terminal. At the same time, the Southern Maritime and Waterway Sub-Department was requested to support the installation of inland waterway signals to limit the load and waterway vehicles circulating in the area.
For the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects of Area 1, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province requested this unit to increase urging and speed up the implementation of the project of Concentrated Migration of the Ma Truong canal residential route (in Tan Quoi hamlet). At the same time, direct the Contractor to focus all resources on completing the project on schedule as signed in the contract, ensuring the plan to arrange for the relocation of people in the landslide belt to a safe place.
