The construction units are speeding up the progress of the route connecting to Long Thanh airport, aiming to complete route T1 in 2025 and route T2 in the first quarter of 2026, in order to synchronously exploit phase 1 of the airport.

The project to build two routes T1 and T2 plays a key role, connecting Long Thanh airport with key traffic axes including National Highway 51 and Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway. The project started in July 2023, with a total investment of more than VND 2,630 billion. The construction package of these two routes maintains a continuous construction rhythm with hundreds of workers divided into many teams to ensure progress.

Route T1 is the western connection road, leading from National Highway 51 to Long Thanh airport with a total length of 4.3 km. This route was technically opened to traffic on April 30, creating favorable conditions for connecting to Long Thanh airport.

route T1 includes two important multi-level intersections including: the intersection with National Highway 51 and the intersection with Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway, helping to increase connectivity and reduce traffic pressure at the gateway to the airport.
Currently, construction units are urgently completing the remaining items. Recorded at the construction site, the overpass branches on route T1 through Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway have been paved with asphalt. The construction force is mobilizing maximum human resources and equipment to complete the final items, including asphalt pavement, planting trees, flowers and grass along both sides of the route as well as at intersections. The entire project is targeted to be completed in 2025.

When the T1 route is put into operation, vehicles from Long Thanh airport can travel conveniently connecting to Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway, Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway, provincial routes 25B, 25C or Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3, contributing to expanding regional connectivity and reducing the load on existing traffic routes.
Route T2 is 3.5 km long, the connecting axis from Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway to the end point of route T1, leading directly to Long Thanh Airport. The route is designed with 4 lanes, with a maximum speed of 100 km/h.

The construction unit is speeding up the progress to complete in the first quarter of 2026. Currently, the project has reached more than 80% of the total construction volume. Route T2 runs parallel to the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway, serving as the northern gateway of Long Thanh airport. Many sections of the road have been paved with asphalt, creating favorable conditions for the project to be completed soon.

In particular, the beginning of route T2 is a complex intersection with the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway and the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway, with a complex overpass system. Thanks to the efforts of contractors, more than 80% of the construction volume at this intersection has been completed, contributing to ensuring the overall progress of the project.
