Mr. Oai emphasized that the Project to Renovate and Upgrade National Highway 6, Ba La - Xuan Mai section is a key traffic project belonging to the radial road connecting Hanoi Capital with the Northwest provinces, which is particularly important for completing transport infrastructure, promoting socio-economic development, ensuring social security and urban aesthetics in the ward, as well as Hanoi Capital.

National Highway 6 is a vital axis, connecting Hanoi with Hoa Binh (now Phu Tho) and the Northwest provinces. In fact, National Highway 6 through Hanoi has deteriorated and been overloaded for many years, often causing congestion and traffic accidents.

To solve the above situation, at the end of 2022, the Hanoi People's Committee started the National Highway 6 expansion project, the Ba La - Xuan Mai section, with a length of about 21.7 km.

The starting point of the project is located at km14 in Ba La district, Ha Dong district (now Yen Nghia ward); the ending point is km38, Xuan Mai town, Chuong My district (now Xuan Mai commune).

The project has 5 construction packages, including items: Synchronous construction of road surface foundation, water supply and drainage, technical cable ditches, lighting, green trees, 8 road bridges, 1 newly built box culvert.

The project has a total investment of over 9,590 billion VND, implemented in the period 2022-2027.
