Lao Cai invests 161 billion VND in 7 medical centers

Lao Cai province is investing in building new, upgrading, renovating and purchasing equipment for 7 district-level medical centers in the old Yen Bai province.

The project to invest in the construction of new construction works, upgrading, renovating and purchasing equipment for 7 district-level health centers in Yen Bai province was approved under Decision No. 1216/QD-UBND dated June 12, 2024 of the old Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee.

This project belongs to Group C, with a total investment of 161 billion VND from the state budget (central budget, provincial budget) and other legal capital sources.

According to the investigation of Lao Dong Newspaper reporters at the National Bidding Network System, on July 29, the Lao Cai Province No. 1 Investment and Construction Project Management Board (invitation for bidding) announced the invitation for bidding for Package No. 15: Procurement for the installation of medical equipment of the project.

The above commodity package was widely bid online, priced at more than VND 52 billion, the bid payment date is August 17, 2025, the contract implementation period is 180 days.

According to the project documents, Package No. 15 will purchase equipment for 7 district-level medical centers of the old Yen Bai province, including regional health centers: Mu Cang Chai, Van Chan, Tran Yen, Van Yen, Yen Binh, Luc Yen, Yen Bai (mainly machinery for medical examination and treatment).

Previously, under this project, packages 08 (Mu Cang Chai area), 09 (Van Chan), 10 (Tran Yen), 11 (Van Yen), 12 (Yen Binh), 13 ( Luc Yen), 14 (Yen Bai) were also implemented.

In particular, some new construction packages include:

Package No. 08 for the construction of a new 4-storey building arranges departments: Infection control; Infection; Department of reproductive and obstetric health care; Traditional medicine and rehabilitation at the Mu Cang Chai Regional Medical Center.

Package No. 09 to build a new Preventive Medicine Office Building - Hall of the Van Chan Regional Medical Center.

Package No. 11 to build a new Department of Infectious Diseases, Infection Control House of Van Yen Regional Medical Center.

Package No. 12 to build a new Treatment House (including the Emergency Resuscitation Department, the Intensive Resuscitation - Anti-Poison Department, the Department of Reproductive and Obstetrics Health Care, Interdisciplinary, Preventive Medicine Bloc, Hall) and Nutrition House at Yen Binh Regional Medical Center.

Package No. 13 to build a new Testing Department and Nutrition House at the Luc Yen Regional Medical Center.

Package No. 14 to build a new Department of Resuscitation and Anti-Poison - Artificial kidney at the Yen Bai Regional Medical Center.

The project is invested with the goal of completing facilities, improving healthcare quality, and creating conditions for people in localities, especially ethnic minorities, to access high-quality healthcare services.

Along with that, the invested project will have enough facilities and conditions to receive and treat infectious diseases and serious cases, limiting patients from moving to higher levels; contributing to the effective implementation of the goal of disease prevention, contributing to the recovery and development of the socio-economy.
