On the afternoon of May 9, at Facility 2 of the City's Center for Communications, Data and Digital Technology (No. 17 Dien Bien Phu, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi), the Hanoi People's Committee held the opening ceremony of the Hanoi Capital Press Center. This is a strategic step forward in the process of digital transformation, administrative reform and transparency in information provision for the press, people and businesses.
Speaking at the ceremony, Central Party Committee member and Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh emphasized that in order to meet the requirements of improving the quality of communication in the digital age, ensuring information is quick, accurate and timely, the city has decided to build a professional, modern, multi-purpose and applied Capital Press Center, integrating digital technology in communication activities.
This will be a unit focusing on receiving, processing and providing information from the city's state administrative agencies, and at the same time, a forum for connecting agencies and units in the city's political system with press agencies and people and businesses.
"The opening of the Hanoi Capital Press Center, a new and modern press and communication institution, is a strong commitment from the city government in the roadmap to build a public - transparent - modern administration; a practical action towards the goal of better serving people, businesses and the press and communication community at home and abroad" - Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh said.

In the coming time, in order for the Capital Press Center to operate truly effectively, worthy of its role and expectations, the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee proposed to perform well the 4 key tasks.
First, the Capital Press Center must truly be an "open" center - where all voices are listened to, all data is connected, information is shared transparently - accurately - promptly.
Second, departments, branches, sectors, and local authorities must identify communication as a part of the management tool. Do not avoid communication, but proactively cooperate, provide information, dialogue and handle with the highest sense of responsibility.
Third, the Center for Communications, Data and Digital Technology - the operating unit - needs to maintain professionalism, objectivity, constantly innovate and be creative so that the Center becomes a unit that integrates information and spreads honest values.
Fourth, central and local press agencies can now consider the Capital Press Center as their "second office".
"I hope that journalists, reporters, and editors will continue to promote their sense of responsibility, professional courage, and love for Hanoi to accompany the city in building the capital to develop more and more sustainably" - Mr. Tran Sy Thanh said.
The Hanoi Capital Press Center is invested synchronously with an open, flexible working space, suitable for many types of journalism (writing, photography, television, multimedia). Technical infrastructure includes: High-speed transmission network, digital data storage system, information coordination center, live recording and broadcasting studios, television conference equipment, electronic board to update data in real time...
In particular, the Capital Press Center aims to integrate modern technology solutions such as artificial intelligence (AI) in monitoring input, trend monitoring, information analysis on cyberspace, fake news warning systems, big data analysis tools to assess the spread of media topics. This is the first step in building an open, smart, user-friendly and press-friendly media ecosystem.
