Water levels of hydropower reservoirs nationwide on March 3rd

Many large hydropower reservoirs across the country are approaching normal water levels, most of the reservoirs operate stably, without opening deep or surface discharge gates.

According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 7:30 am on March 3, at Son La Hydropower Plant, the water level reached 214.81m, only 0.19m lower than the normal water level (215m). The flow to the reservoir was 388 m3/s, with a total discharge of 744 m3/s through the plant.

Lai Chau Hydropower Lake recorded a water level of 294.48m (normal rising water level 295m), flow rate of 645 m3/s, total discharge 130 m3/s.

At Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant, the water level is at an elevation of 113.04m, nearly 4m lower than the normal water level (117m). Inflow to the reservoir is 735 m3/s, total discharge is 451 m3/s.

Tuyen Quang Hydropower Reservoir reached 114.54m (normal water level 120m), total discharge 198.93 m3/s.

In the North Central region, Ban Ve Hydropower reached an altitude of 194.52m (normal water level 200m), flow rate 56 m3/s, total discharge 267 m3/s.

Trung Son Hydropower Plant is at 158.87m and currently does not discharge water.

In the South Central Coast, Song Tranh 2 Hydropower Plant reached 173.55m, 1.45m lower than the normal water level; the flow rate reached 62.68 m3/s and regulation discharge has not been implemented.

A Vuong Hydropower Plant is at an altitude of 374.54m, 5m lower than the normal water level.

In the Central Highlands, Ialy Hydropower Plant recorded a water level of 508.52m (normal water level 515m), total discharge 320 m3/s.

Se San 4 Hydropower reached 213.92m, total discharge 320 m3/s.

Dong Nai 4 Hydropower reached 475.5m, approaching the normal water level of 476m.

Notably, Tri An Hydropower Plant recorded a water level of 61.59m, only 0.41m lower than the normal water level (62m) and currently does not discharge water.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather forecast for March 3rd, due to the impact of cold air, the North has rain, scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places. In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. It will be cold at night and in the morning with the lowest temperature around 18 - 21 degrees Celsius.

The area from Nghe An to Quang Ngai has rain, showers and scattered thunderstorms, locally with moderate to heavy rain.

The Southern region in the late afternoon and night has showers and thunderstorms in some places, sunny during the day.
