Can Tho Health Sector goes to Lao Cai to support relief efforts

The relief and free medicine team of Can Tho Health Department went to Bat Xat district, Lao Cai province to help people overcome difficulties after the storm and flood.

On September 20, the relief team of the Can Tho Health Department arrived in Lao Cai province to give cash and gifts (including necessities and medicine) to 400 households affected by the storm in 3 communes: A Mu Sung, A Lu and Ban Vuoc (Bat Xat district). The total value of each gift was equivalent to 1.5 million VND.

The delegation also provided cash support to: 17 households with dead or missing people (VND 20 million in cash/household); 3 households whose houses had completely collapsed (VND 50 million in cash/household); 5 households whose houses had partially collapsed (VND 20 million in cash/household); medical staff affected by floods (VND 50 million); Bat Xat District People's Committee to overcome the consequences of the storm with VND 50 million.

In addition, Can Tho Health Department also donated 200 family medicine bags and other medicines to Bat Xat District Health Center.

Previously, on the afternoon of September 17, the Can Tho City Department of Health held a fundraising event to support the people of the North to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3 (Yagi). Statistics at the ceremony showed that the total amount of donations was nearly 2 billion VND. The Department of Health contributed 400 million VND to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City. The Department directly provided relief in Lao Cai province with the remainder.
