At noon on September 2, the leader of the People's Committee of Nghi Duc commune, Lam Dong province confirmed that on the evening of September 1, local flooding occurred in the area, causing damage to people's property and traffic works.

On the evening of September 1, people in Nghi Duc commune said that prolonged heavy rain combined with tornadoes and water from upstream suddenly poured in, causing flooding.
Water flooded into people's houses, flooding traffic routes with strong currents, making traffic difficult. Many households have urgently moved their belongings to stay below and move them up high to avoid damage.

There was a cultural and social expert of the commune who was on duty giving gifts of 100,000 VND to people on the occasion of the September 2 holiday when his motorbike was swept away by water on the way home.
According to initial statistics from the People's Committee of Nghi Duc commune, heavy rain combined with tornadoes washed away poultry, damaged 17 hectares of rice, knocked down rubber trees and flooded 200 wells of people, causing pollution.
2 rural traffic bridges were eroded. The total preliminary damage is initially estimated at about 1.6 billion VND.


Currently, the locality is continuing to inventory the damage, recommending the Provincial People's Committee to consider funding sources for natural disaster and flood and storm prevention so that the locality can overcome the consequences of natural disasters and floods.
