On December 1, Chairman of the People's Committee of D'Ran commune (Lam Dong province) Dinh Viet Dung said that a new landslide had just appeared in the area, forcing the urgent evacuation of 6 households.
The landslide site is located west of Da Nhim river, downstream of Don Duong bridge, village 1, D'Ran commune. Flooding and flash floods in late November have dug deep into riverbanks, creating dangerous frog jaw.
At around 9am on December 1, after the water completely receded, the area continued to slide, causing a house to collapse one-third.

Immediately after receiving the news, the authorities mobilized forces to support 6 households to evacuate to safety. Local authorities also set up fences and warning signs, not allowing people to access dangerous areas.
Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi requested D'Ran commune to closely monitor the landslide developments and proactively plan to ensure the safety of the people. In case the house is damaged, the locality must assess and propose support directions.

As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, the recent flood caused heavy damage to hundreds of houses in D'Ran commune, 15 houses were completely collapsed; many properties and hundreds of hectares of crops were swept away, with total estimated damage of more than 440 billion VND.
